Abstract

The Department  of Slavic Languages at Duke University began actively considering the implementation of Russian CAI in 1983.  It was decided to
model the Russian materials after the German CALIS system. Unique software and hardware problems encountered in the creation of the Russian CAI system were solved as well as other problems. Full scale use of the Russian CALIS system is expected in the Fall of 1985.
