  • Rim Zahra, UCD

    Rim Zahra and Razzan Zahra hold M.A. degrees in English Literature from Sonoma State University, where they used technology to co-teach classes in Arabic language and gender studies on the representation of Arab women. Currently, they are Ph.D. candidates in The School of Education at the University of California, Davis. In pursuing her doctorate, Rim is particularly interested in understanding the relationship between literature, culture, gender and three-dimensional virtual reality. In understanding these relationships, she hopes to develop a theoretical framework for learning processes and media literacy for the 21st and beyond. Razzan, is interested in the representation of Arab women and the manner in which the internet has altered, changed and redefined conceptions of the Orient and occident. She is particularly focused on improving visual literacy among college students and developing their critical thinking skills about Arab women and culture. Reviewer
