Abstract

The Working Party Report prepared for the Scottish Executive Health Department will form the basis of new guidelines for spiritual care and chaplaincy in the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland. It, is summarised by the working party convener.

    Stewart McGregor, retired Wholetime Chaplain, to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, is at the time of writing Convenor of the Hospitals, Healthcare and Universities sub-committee of the Church of Scotland’s Board of National Mission, Acting convener of the Healthcare Chaplaincy Training and Development Group and was Convener of the Working Party which produced the report.
