Prospective authors for The International Journal of Speech, Language and the Law should register as authors (see the 'On Line Submission' details above).

First, click here to download the guidelines which you will find in PDF format. All articles are double-blind peer-reviewed. Please contact the Book Review editor before submitting a book review to ensure that the book you wish to review has not already been assigned. We will acknowledge your submission upon receipt and let you know the anticipated timeframe for a decision. If your article is accepted, we will send you further instructions for submitting the final manuscript of your article.

Submitting thesis abstracts

Thesis abstracts should be submitted using the Online Submission form from the Submissions page.

For general information, please read the author guidelines. These guidelines primarily contain information relevant to those submitting articles for the journal. However, they should be read by any author submitting to IJSLL.

Formatting your abstract
Guidance is provided in the Guidelines document to assist with formatting your abstract for IJSLL. This provides information about preparing your manuscript and a general style guide. The abstract should be formatted using the same style as that in the rest of the journal.

Additional information relevant to abstract submissions
Under ‘Journal Section’ in the Online Submission form please select ‘Thesis Abstracts’. Please include the email address of your supervisor in the ‘Comments for the Editor’ box as they will be contacted to verify the accuracy of the submitted information.

Your abstract should be around 1000 words in length and be relevant to the themes of the journal - speech and language in law. Your abstract should include details of your awarding institution, the date of your award and you should have completed your PhD within the last three years. Your PhD needs to have been examined for the abstract to be considered for publication.

If you have any further questions, please contact Alexandra Grey at [email protected]
