  • Courtney B. Cazden, Harvard University

    Courtney B. Cazden is the Charles William Eliot Professor of Education Emerita, Harvard University. Her teaching and research have centered on the individual development of language and on the functions of language in the classroom. She is a member of the National Academy of Education; has held fellowships from Fulbright and the Center for Advanced Study; and is a past president of the American Association of Applied Linguistics. Her most recent book is Classroom Discourse (2nd edition, 2001).
