Editors

Massimiliano Demata is an Associate Professor of English Linguistics at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society at the University of Turin. He took his DPhil from Oxford University, was Fulbright Research Fellow in 1999 (Yale) and 2014 (Indiana), and Visiting Professor at Saarland University with a DAAD fellowship in 2020. His research is based on a critical approach to Discourse Analysis, focusing on media and political discourse. He has published extensively on racism, nationalism and immigration, the language of George W. Bush and Donald Trump, left-wing populism, climate change refugees, and computer-mediated communication.

 

Natalia Knoblock is an Associate Professor of English at Saginaw Valley State University. She was a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan (2018-19) and is currently an English Language Fellow with the U.S. Department of State public diplomacy initiative. Her research interests lie in political and cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, and corpus-assisted discourse analysis. She has published on the topics of U.S. presidential debates, xenophobia and hostility on social networks, cognitive processes involved in verbal aggression and propaganda, and she is currently researching populist communication and its reception by the public.
