  • J. D. Ray, University of Cambridge
    John Ray is Reader in Egyptology at the University of Cambridge. His research and publications have concentrated on late-period and Hellenistic Egypt, with particular reference to texts in demotic and to the role of immigrant communities in Egypt. He has also worked on the Carian script from Asia Minor, and is the author of the chapter on Achaemenid Egypt in the new Cambridge Ancient History.
