About the Journal

Linguistics and the Human Sciences is committed to fostering a dialogue of disciplines, in which linguistics figures prominently. This journal is devoted to the exploration of how understanding about language – our principal meaning-making semiotic system – helps us understand other phenomena in human experience, and vice versa. It aims to explore the relationships between linguistics and such areas of scholarly concern as history, sociology, politics, archaeology, religious studies, translation and the study of art in various semiotic modalities.
