    Liangtao Lai is PhD in linguistics and Lecturer at Martin Centre for Appliable Linguistics, School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include systemic functional linguistics, educational linguistics, discourse analysis, and translation studies. He has published 20 papers, two books A Telos-oriented Model of Genre Analysis (Xiamen University Press 2012) and Educational Linguistics: A Social Semiotic Approach (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press 2015), and co-edited (with Ahmar Mahboob and Pin Wang) one book Multiperspective Studies of Language: Theory and Application (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press 2016).
