This article is based on a presentation at CALICO '85. It discusses the problems inherent in making teachers computer literate. It then describes a staff development program for foreign language teachers in North Carolina which introduces them to the potential of CAI for foreign language instruction by providing hands-on experience with the computer which is directly applicable to this instructional area.References
