Abstract

This article investigates the story of Yusuf and Zulaykha in sura 12 of the Qur’an. While commentaries focus on Yusuf as the key character of this story, in this article emphasis will be given to the story from Zulaykha’s point of view to gain a new appreciation of the character and some indication of a Qur’anic perspective on women in general.
