Author Biography

  • Ian Hodder, University of Cambridge
    Ian Hodder received his PhD in archaeology from Cambridge University in 1975, and is currently Professor of Archaeology and a Fellow of Darwin College at Cambridge. In 1996 he became a Fellow of the British Academy. His research interests include European prehistory. He has directed numerous prehistoric excavations including the new excavation of Catalhoyuk, Turkey. He serves on several editorial boards and is General Editor of the Social Archaeology series for Blackwell Publishers, Oxford. He has authored several books, including: 'The Domestication of Europe', 'Theory and Practice in Archaeology', 'On the Surface: Catalhoyuk 1993-95' and 'The Archaeological Process: An Introduction'.
