Author Biography

    Lesley is a mediator, trainer and consultant who has worked in the field of dispute resolution for over 25 years. Her initial area of practice was in family mediation, where she played a key role in developing good practice guidelines and training for working with domestic abuse. Later she was involved in developing a model of mediation to use in Special Educational Needs disputes and Disability Conciliation. She also mediates and trains in the workplace context and most recently, is qualified to deliver International Family Mediation in abduction cases. She also has an academic interest in mediation, having completed a European Masters Degree in 2005, for which she developed a model of supervision specific to mediation. Currently she is completing her PhD with the Birmingham Law School, comparing fields of mediation practice and identifying similarities and differences across contexts. She is on the Board of the College of Mediators and a member of the Professional Standards Committee.
