Abstract

Ross Harley's article provides a detailed study of the Australian independent record label Volition, and its role in nurturing the development of techno-dance music. In covering this topic, his study emphasises how the local can be enabled by - or even predicated on - the support of international agencies when its local industry is resistant to the development of new genres
