Abstract

The V&A holds the UK's national collection of live performance, and within this is the UK's only permanent collection of rock and pop related material. An early collector in this field, I have researched the history of the collection, why we collect the specific kinds of material that we do and how I would like to develop this in the future. The article includes case studies surrounding some of our most important collections and objects.
