Author Biography

  • Mariana Achugar, Carnegie Mellon University
    Mariana Achugar is a Guggenheim Fellow. She works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Modern Languages in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, United States. Her research interests include the role of language in cultural reproduction and change. She explores the relation between language and society from a critical discourse analysis perspective informed by systemic functional linguistics. Her most recent publication is Discursive processes of intergenerational transmission of recent history:(Re)Making our past, Palgrave Macmillan (2016).
