“LGBT Elders, Isolation, and Loneliness: An Existential Analysis” by Tim Johnston examines evidence showing that isolation and loneliness have a profoundly negative impact on the individual’s wellbeing because they remove, especially older LGBT adults, from temporal rhythms, thus making it difficult for them to maintain a sense of self and precariously plunging them in the past, as opposed to allowing them to be involved in future-oriented projects. |
