“Aging and Aesthetic Responsibility” by Elizabeth Lanphier looks at the process of aging from the point of view of the representation of the aging body, especially the ageing female body, in mainstream visual arts. Lanphier seeks to establish that there is, in fact, an ethical responsibility to visually represent aged bodies, in particular, and scenes of aging, in general. |
