Description Abstract This chapter discusses the role of CMC among L2 learners in facilitating communicative competence through meaningful practice, with the goal of developing literacy skills for authentic communication in real-world L2 contexts. Pedagogical guidelines are provided for task-design, implementation and assessment; challenges, solutions and suggestions for future research are also addressed.
