6. Description Abstract This chapter takes into account the topic of religious pluralism and religious diversity in modern and contemporary Nepal. From a religious perspective, the modern and contemporary history of Nepal can be characterized by two diverse, and opposite, tendencies: a process towards centralization (1768-1991) followed by a process towards differentiation (1991-ongoing).
